Business in China

Things to know when doing business in China or with the Chinese.

• The first and most important thing is to have patients when dealing with the Chinese.

• Be prepared to spend for a banquet and for a similar level of entertainment of contracts as you would in any other country.

• Be firm. Stand fast. Insist they meet their end of the arrangements. And if they don’t scream loudly to the press.

• Make sure you’ve done you market research. Sell the Chinese what they really need. And buy what they are good at making.

• You must carry plenty of business cards. (Also handy to have the Chinese translation on the back). Without one you don’t exist. Use both hand to give and receive cards.

• Honesty and Frankness would smooth out and communication problems.
